If kept in the refrigerator, an unopened package will last for 5-6 months. Even after the package has been opened, they will be good for 2-3 months as long as they are kept in strong salt water. After the herring roe has been desalted, they can be stored in the refrigerator, but it is best to eat them while they are fresh.

  • Storing Herring Roe
    Please do not freeze the herring roe as this would cause them to lose their unique crisp texture. Herring roe is sensitive to both light and temperature, so wrap them up in paper and keep them in the refrigerator for storage.
